Fort Denison
Fort Denison, named after Sir William Thomas Denison, the Governor of New South Wales from 1855 to 1861, is built on an island known as Pinchgut in Sydney Harbour. The island was fortified during the 1850's with its distinctive feature being the Martello Tower, the only tower of its type in Australia.
